Disktective is a freeware program, can be used without any limitations and can be distributed freely. However no-one other than the programmer of this product can claim commercial/legal ownership and charge more for it than the sole distribution costs. If you want to sell this product for more than its distribution costs you must contact the programmer.

What can you do with Disktective?
Examples:
1 With this program you can find out what is eating up your precious disk-space by showing you the distribution of the occupied space.
2 When you want to back up a complete directory structure on a disk or tape of limited size or send it through a network, you need to know the size and distribution of the structure. If it is too large, you can take appropriate actions (like removing certain portions which are less useful).
Disktective can calculate the REAL size of a directory or disk. That is INCLUDING the sum of the bytes residing in every file, subdirectory, subsubdirectory, etc.
On demand, a REPORT will be created, containing the complete directory structure and distribution including all REAL sizes, in an expandable tree view.
Installing Disktective.

Simply copy the files into a directory of your choice on your hard-disk.
However, it does not matter whether the disk is write-protected or not, so you can also run it from a CD-rom or a floppy.
Optional installation instructions.
(adding an icon to a program-group)
Click the start-button on your screen with your right mouse-button and select 'open'. Then double-click the 'programs' group.
After that, double click the program group you want to install Disktective into. In that program group, RIGHT click an empty space inside the group with your mouse and select 'new' - 'shortcut'. Click the 'browse' button in 'Create Shortcut'. Browse to the directory where disktective resides on your disk. Then press the 'open' button and finish the process.
